ABOUT ME

DANIEL WATSON
Daniel Watson | HR Technology Specialist
Joined TPCHR in August 2017

Born and raised in Madison Wisconsin, I grew up working as a fish monger, if you can believe it. Spent four-plus years learning the trade where I built my communication and customer service skills all while managing a counter and selling seafood.

A struggle, that I deal with to this day, is that I have dyslexia. A learning disability that often makes reading and writing very challenging. Even while writing this bio, I notice tics in my style and spelling that I often must read and re-read several times to identify and correct.

I was able to develop tactics and habits to help me study and excel in school despite my dyslexia.

After graduating high school, I moved away to college where I couldn’t decide between getting a Business Administration degree or a Computer Science degree. So, I got both.

During my time in college, I tutored in classes like Math of Finance, Astronomy and Computer Programing. Near the end of my collegiate career, I began work at an I.T. firm that ran I.T. for School Districts in the southwest region of Wisconsin. There, I was given the opportunity to hone my technical skills and develop a better foundation for handling client issues.

It is important to me to feel connected to the people I work with and for. The relationships I forge reflect this every day, through the insight I provide and the work I do.

I found a strong feeling of connection when I began working as the Information Systems Specialist at TPCHR. The people and the clients I get to work with every day are in a caliber of their own. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this family and those it serves.

When I am not at work, you can find me in the Gym lifting weights and training in Mixed Martial Arts. Mental and physical health are major aspects of my life, and good nutrition is the foundation for me to maintain my lifestyle. Cooking clean and healthy meals is a ritual I perform once a week, as I prep all the food I will eat for the entire week!
