The Skinny: I am a Portland, Oregon transplant living in Madison, Wisconsin doing what I love most: connecting with people.
The Long: What you really should know about me is I didn’t realize how much I would love working in HR.
After changing my major seven times at Brigham Young University…what can I say, I’m a bit indecisive and like to dabble in a bit of everything. I put my schooling on hold and served an 18-month mission for my church in Argentina. Every day I spent in Argentina changed my life for the better, and not just because the meat was amazing.
Fast forward to 2016, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. The day after graduation, I started working full-time as an HR Representative at a skilled nursing facility in Utah. I knew nothing about the field of HR but worked to put my husband through graduate school. Little did I know, how much that job would impact the trajectory of my life. The more I worked, the more I discovered how much I loved HR, after all, it’s the perfect marriage of working with people and doing administrative work. And that’s the other thing you should know about me…I love people and I love getting things done.
The best part of my job is working with a variety of employees on a daily basis, and being surrounded by a team that inspires me to be my best self.
When I’m not working, I love exploring National Parks with my husband – in fact, 8 parks down, a lot to go. I am happiest anywhere if it means I am with family, and when you’re the youngest of nine kids, there is a lot of family.
