ABOUT ME

JACQUELINE JACOBSON
Jacqueline Jacobson | Manager Shared Services Consulting
Joined TPCHR in January 2016

My Dad met Kevin Peternel, partial owner of TPCHR, before I did.  Kevin and his wife Lisa were spending a few days at a cabin adjacent to ours in the Northwoods of WI (talk about small world).  Kevin chatted with my Dad about what he did and what TPCHR was all about, my Dad told Kevin that I was in school at UW Eau Claire for Business Management – HR, and… for the sake of a good story, I’ll say that the rest was history.

In the Spring of 2015, with graduation approaching that winter, I reached out to Kevin with my resume and cover letter.  I was having the time of my life in Eau Claire.  I loved the city and my friends there so much, but I was still trying to figure out how and where I wanted to use my Bachelor of Management – Human Resources degree.  Admittedly, my inner Millennial wanted to be engaged and passionate about where I worked no matter where that led me.

Growing up in Madison, my Mom and Dad instilled in myself and my older siblings the importance of hard work in everything that we did.  Whether it was chores in the summertime (weeding the garden am I right?), getting my first job at 15 at a local grocery store, or working hard in school.  I felt grounded in knowing that the habits I established in my youth would  help me “out there” in the world and I am thankful for them for that.

I ultimately made the decision to come back to Madison and I’ve worked at TPCHR now since the Summer of 2015 when I started as an Intern.  I’m so glad that I came back! Working at TPCHR has changed my life in a lot of ways.  Those good habits I learned growing up have helped pave the way to success in this business and in life in general and honestly the team here has become like another family to me.

It’s in my nature to be more of an individualist and independent (I’m a 9, wing 1 on the Enneagram if you’re curious) but working at TPCHR as taught me how to show grace to others and see their strengths and appreciate them.  It’s one of my favorite things about working at TPCHR, watching our team members grow and figure out their niche in HR, it brings out their creativity and drive to help our clients!  I’ve definitely found a passion in the work that I do and in what we do as a company.

I’m a believer in the sense that I truly think intentional connections with people will lead to a successful business and a positive team culture.  I’ve watched how the TPCHR team has grown and strengthened over the years as proof of that.  It’s so important that I remind myself and feel grateful for the connections that I have and that others have made, because after all, it was a connection/friendship that brought me to TPCHR in the first place.
